Pickled Gnomish Delights

I was thinking what if during the course of human evolution there simultaneous evolved a species of primates with an inseminating lactating physically weaker gender and a womb carrying stronger gender. The strong womb carryers would basically have complete say over procreation and the inseminators would simply avail themselves as options. Non-consensual intercourse would be more difficult possibly. However, if these creatures ever came in contact with our ancestors, they would have been at a strict disadvantage because their warriors would be out of commission for a long time when they were pregnant so they would maybe all die.
